Acupuncture is a healing philosophy based on balancing physical energy meridians, allowing the body to heal itself.  Fine needles are painlessly inserted at key acupressure points corresponding to bodily organs to relieve pain and help manage dis-ease & dysfunction. 

The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principal of five-element Acupuncture views the human body as a microcosm of the universe with the tides of energy and emotions waxing & waning.  These energies and emotions are stored in the visceral organs and move through specific meridian pathways of the body in a regular and cyclical fashion.  When these become blocked or deficient through stress, trauma or disease, the five-element practitioner may use carefully controlled pressure on certain meridian points to help move the energy or emotions.  This restores the natural cycle of energy and emotional movement, thus helping the person's natural ability to heal.

Lei (pronounced Lay) Shaw is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist, certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM.)  She has served as a board member for the Indiana Acupuncture Alliance. 

She earned a Master's degree of Chinese Medicine from the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Fe, NM.  She worked as a Resident Doctor at the University Hospital at Chengdu Traditional Chinese Medical University, one of the best Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospitals in China.  She has been practicing Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine since 1995.
